Generally, YES. You will need an instrument to practice at home. Here’s what we recommend: • Piano & Drums: You must have an instrument at home for practice, but you do not need to transport them to our campus for lessons. • Drums: Please bring your own set of drumsticks to each lesson. • Banjo, Cello, Flute, Guitar, Mandolin, Viola & Violin: Please bring your instrument to each lesson.

We recommend renting from Music & Arts.(https://www.musicarts.com/) They have a great ‘rent-to-own’ program, which many families leverage. (Check with them for exact details, but essentially, if you decide to purchase your instrument, all of your rental fees apply toward the purchase.)

Great question! The answer varies by instrument: Piano: Both electric and acoustic pianos work well. Priority is on weighted, full-sized keys. Violin: Cecilio brand on Amazon is adequate for beginners. For a little better quality and sound, expect to spend $300–$700 on something that will be more appropriate to advance on. If you are interested in renting, we recommend Music & Arts.(https://www.musicarts.com/) • Viola - We recommend renting for all beginners (Music & Arts)(https://www.musicarts.com/). • Guitars: (generally) - We recommend budgeting at least $500 or renting from Music & Arts (https://www.musicarts.com/) • Acoustic: Yamaha and Fender have good lines of beginner acoustics • Electric: Squier Classic Vibe series, Epiphone, and Gretsch Electromatic. You will also need an amp.

It varies by instrument. Our recommendations are: • Cello: 10 years • Drums: 6 years and can easily distinguish their left from their right • Guitar: 10 years • Piano: 5–6 years and reading independently • Violin: 7 years old and reading independently • Viola: 7 years old and reading independently • Voice: 6 years old

After you park, walk through the atrium toward the back of the building. You’ll see a large staircase. Take it up! At the top of the bridge, enter the glass doors on your right. Take a seat in the lobby. Your teacher will come to you when your lesson begins.

Lessons are $140/month for 30 min once a week, $210/month for 45 min once a week and $280/month for 60 min once a week. We recommend all beginners start with a 30 minute lesson.

Yes. If you have an ESA debit card, you can pay directly with that. If not, let us know and we will set you up to receive a custom ESA receipt. You will then submit it to ESA for reimbursement.
